Nice words, Mr. President.
But utterly useless unless you wage an immediate war against our Military Industrial Complex and its favorite clients: Saudi Arabia and Israel.
Which is not gonna happen, of course.
Welcome to the new and improved Dark Ages where government and terrorist conspire against the citizenry: we pay taxes and blood, they collect wages and carry on with this sick, evil Kabuki we call 'The War on Terrorism'.
Taxi, we all know that the US would never attack Israel and as to attacking Saudi Arabia, I wouldn't want that because most Saudis are innocent and don't have a clue of what's going on. The problem is not with the military industrial complex as much as it's with the elected Congress representatives that approve all these evil doings. Until the US has real laws about elections spending by the candidates and the political parties, nothing will change as most elected officials are beholden to interest groups because of political contributions.
You’re absolutely right, Walid. It’s all so very futile – till some stringent rules regarding election budgets, donations, etc are put into place. But I can’t see that happening either. The corporations own our democracy – they lease it out to us once every four years. They have our cash, our media, our politicians and our armed forces. They won’t be letting go any of it any time soon. We The People currently have nothing.
There are such laws in effect in the US now, but at the same time there's a green light to special pacs, which bypass these current laws. You can't expect the lawmakers to enact laws that would limit their own fund-raising activities.
Obama said the Congress should approve an AUMF (Authorization to Use Military Force) to fight ISIS. Hell no, this must be opposed.
It's been reported (so far unverified) that the US has now hit an SSA position, killing one Syrian soldier. If Obama gets an AUMF from Congress, the SSA, Hezbollah, and Iranian legitimate defenders of Syria will be in even greater peril of illegal attacks.
And don't forget Tulsi Gabbard's H.R. 4108 – To prohibit the use of funds for the provision of assistance to Syrian opposition groups and individuals. This bill needs more co-sponsors (they could be any members of the House), and it will also need to get approved in committee to get onto the floor for a vote.
H.R. 4108 won't prevent an AUMF, but it would force open discussion.
"If Obama gets an AUMF from Congress, the SSA, Hezbollah, and Iranian legitimate defenders of Syria will be in even greater peril of illegal attacks."
That would be the Zionists' dream becoming true.
